COMPANY TRAK Machine Tools (TMT) is a manufacturer of TRAK CNC machines and Proto TRAK CNC controls. Our headquarters is located Rancho Dominguez, CA, just south of Los Angeles with a second facility located in Henderson, NV. We have established direct and distributor sales/service organizations in America and Europe, with sales expanding in other markets internationally. JOB OVERVIEW The Buyer Planner is responsible for placing purchase orders for current, new, and legacy products. Keep up to date on current orders, past due orders, and lead times for core products. Supports the company’s new product launches and helps facilitate continued sales growth. DUTIES - Initiates quotes, purchase orders, and release of products. - Maintains close communication with suppliers to anticipate market trends, improve deliveries, and lower total cost. - Assists in the resolution of production, design, quality and/or delivery problems. - Alerts senior management to potential issues that impact production. - Collaborates on quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers. - Oversees implementation of new parts. - Manages the disposition of discrepant material. - Assists in the planning of production among the various departments. - Plan PO’s and transfer orders to ensure customer requirements are met. - Adjust planning parameters to meet current needs. - Create planning parameters for new products. - Release orders accounting for time needed to ship machines according to customer requirements - Other tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS - 1-2 years of purchasing or relatable experience - Strong negotiating skills - Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams, and industry standard purchase order software platforms - Impeccable attention to detail - Ability to work well with a team - Microsoft Dynamics BC experience is a plus DISCLAIMER The above description is not intended to be interpreted as an exhaustive list of skills, qualifications, and duties for this role.
