Quality Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Henderson, Nevada.Job Description & Requirements

We want to reward you for giving us a chance, so when you sign for your first assignment (of 13 weeks or more) with us from now until August 31st we will include a $1,000 bonus on your first paycheck.**TRAVELERS MUST HAVE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE AND A MINIMUM OF 3 FULL YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE, TO BE CONSIDERED.
    MUST ALSO BE FLEXIBLE WITH SCHEDULING AND OPEN TO WORKING AS NEEDED ON WEEKENDS**

    **Cerner Experience Required**
    **Start Date 11/7 Only**
    **Will Do 26 week assignments**

    Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 12 hours to complete.

    **Cerner Experience Required**

    - Unit: Surgical ICU - 3 years of experience in specialty & MUST have travel experience
    - # beds: 24 Beds (SICU and MICU are on same floor, different towers)
    - Ratios: 1 to 1 or 1 to 2
    - Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required
    IABP & CRRT are preferred
    - Systems: Cerner (prior experience is preferred)
    - Nurse Aides: None
    - Charge Nurse: Shift Managers - No patient assignment unless absolutely necessary
    - Holidays : Minimum of 2 major holidays & 2 minor holidays, but could be more than that. Travelers are expected to fill the needs of the unit.
    - Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule. Travelers are expected to fill the needs of the unit, so must be flexible.
    - Scrub Color: Navy
    - Tele Phillips: No monitor techs. Nurses are responsible for watching monitors. Must be able to read and interpret strips
    - Vents: Espirit & oscillators
    - IV Team: No
    - Hospitalists: Closed ICU Intensivist model. 24/7 on site availability by MD and/or NP/PA
    - RT 24/7: Yes
    - Pharmacy 24/7: 24/7 Pharmacy & also have a pharmacist on unit on day shift
    - Shifts: 12 hr shifts - 7a-7:30pm;7pm-7:30am, self scheduling but manager has to balance it. Block scheduling is not guaranteed
    - Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts
    - Float: Can float to the MICU, as well as the Medical or Surgical IMCUs, or to the ER for ICU holds. Could also be floated to one of the other es. Travelers are the first to float. They would give travelers notice prior to the start of their shift if they are required to float to another .
    - Additional Notes : Previous travel experience preferred; Must have excellent time management skills, organizational skills, and strong critical thinking skills. Must not be afraid to ask questions. Experience/understanding of HCAHPS, Pressure Ulcers and Fall prevention is huge. Must have recent experience caring for patients listed below:

    - Types of patients in the SICU include:
    NEURO (ICP); IABP; Post CABG; post operative thoracotomy; CRRT; STEMI; sheath pulls, trauma, immediate post-recovery from OR.

    - Types of patients in the MICU include:
    CRRT (would be a plus), Acute CVAs w/ TPA; general sepsis; respiratory failure; multi-organ failure.
    NOTE: Travelers won't take fresh hearts, IABP, or CRRT. Travelers would get POD 3 CABG. Candidates must have strong Neuro, general MedSurg, & general Post-op experience. "

    - Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required
    CRRT is preferred
    - Doc System: Cerner; Omnicell -prior experience with Cerner is preferred
    - Nurse Aides: None
    - Charge Nurse: Shift Managers - No patient assignment unless absolutely necessary
    - Holidays : Minimum of 2 major holidays & 2 minor holidays, but could be more than that. Travelers are expected to fill the needs of the unit.
    - Weekends: Every other weekend but could potentially be more than this. Travelers are expected to fill the needs of the unit.
    - Scrub Color: Navy
