Job Description:
The Professorial faculty shall consist of individuals who have
been appointed to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate
Professor, or Professor.A faculty member in School of Nursing is
expected to fulfill teaching, service and scholarship
responsibilities.Faculty members assume the responsibility of
developing, recommending, and executing all approved policies of
instruction. A faculty member in the School of Nursing is
responsible for the delivery of a portion of the curriculum for
which he/she has suitable education and experience which may
include oversight of students in clinical settings. He/she will
follow the curriculum as designed and collaborate with key
individuals as needed. He/she is expected to assist the University
and School of Nursing in meeting academic or related committee
responsibilities. All of these duties require that the faculty
member remain current in practice through Nursing Science
participation in professional development activities.Located in
Henderson, Nevada, approximately twenty-five minutes from the
notorious Las Vegas strip, Touro University Nevada is a non-profit

all aspects of teaching for assigned courses1.2. Prepare and
deliver content for assigned courses.1.3. Follow approved
curriculum while deliver content for assigned courses1.4. Provide
Clinical Supervision for NP students.1.5. Coordinate clinical
experiences with preceptors.1.6. Evaluate student progress in
didactic, Practicum and Clinical Intensives , lab, and clinical
settings through appropriate evaluation methods1.7. Implement and
comply with all TUN/ TUSN policies2. Curriculum Development2.1.
Participate in the ongoing curriculum review.2.2. Complete course
report forms at the end of each semester.3. Education
Environment3.1. Promote an environment conducive to student
learning and be responsive to student needs3.2. Report student
progress to appropriate personnel3.3. Prepare reports on student
progress for faculty meetings3.4. Provide student support through
provision of office hours and advisement. Format may be online,
phone, and/or in person.3.5. Promote student learning and
facilitate a learning environment4. Service4.1. Serve on committees
within the School of Nursing (SON), Touro University Nevada (TUN)
and the community at large.4.2. Function as student advisors to
assigned group of students4.3. Attend graduation, school, college,
and student functions as required4.4. Complete student status forms
when appropriate4.5. Implement TUN and SON approved policies as
appropriate4.6. Provide reports, budgetary information, and other
documents, as requested by Directors and Deans4.7. Other duties may
be assigned.5. Scholarship5.1. Maintain academic and clinical
expertise through scholarship activities6. Actively engages in the
advancement of the University6.1. Builds collaborative partnership
opportunities across and among various entities participating in
networking opportunities, [internal and external partners, other
colleges and universities, hospitals, local organizations,
societies, etc.] promoting relationships with the University.6.2.
Promotes and represents the University at local, state, and
national events (attending and participating in conferences,
serving as a speaker/presenter, networking with colleagues to
foster program development, participating in various community
opportunities, etc.)6.3. Refers to and coordinates in advance with
the Office of Advancement/Public Relations team on all media
contacts, communications, and/or interactions to include message,
promotion, etc. in which asked to serve as an official
representative, content expert, or spokesperson on behalf of the
University.6.4. Coordination in advance with the Office of
Advancement on all Touro related legislative issues to include
contact with the national, state, and local government officials,
whether in official University capacity or with a national, state
or local organization.6.5. Serves on various committees and teams
within the University as assigned (attending meetings, contributing
to discussions, sharing/exchanging information, and leading
constituents toward goal attainment) to include advising and
mentoring (Students, clubs, campus organizations)6.6. Contributes
to Universitys compliance with and in the development of required
documentation as related to accreditation of all programs to which
departmental content is contributed. (faculty adequacy model,
gathering data, self-assessment, peer review, providing
input/feedback, etc.) aiding in the attainment of academic
compliance6.7. Is knowledgeable of and remains in compliance with
all institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the
Faculty Handbook for Touro University Nevada7. Contributes to team
efforts by performing other duties as needed/assignedEducation:
