Nurse will report to the Supervisory Nurse in the Nursing
Department located at the Peach Springs Health Center, Peach
Springs, AZ. The purpose of the position is to provide direct
patient care to patients with a variety of medical, surgical,
pediatric, and woman's health. The employee performs duties under
the general supervision and guidance of a registered nurse and
assists other health care provides in providing care and
maintaining a safe and quality care environment. Incorporates and
applies protocols in health promotion for well populations as well
as treatment interventions for chronic conditions. Demonstrates an
understanding of disease process and has the ability to recognize
physical, psychological, social and environmental needs.
Coordinates clinical flow within the clinical care team. Plans,
organizes and allocates/adjusts resources in response to workload
and priority changes. Serves as Team Lead when designated. Leads in
a proactive, customer-responsive manner. Addresses customer needs
and/or requests; solicits feedback and makes applicable adjustments
to accommodate customers. Requirements Conditions of Employment

Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after
1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff
working in Indian Health Service health care facilities. COVID-19

this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or
education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which

professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community;
social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience,
including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly
identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and
the total number of hours per week. Individual Occupational
Requirements Basic Requirements Licensure: You must meet one of the
following licensure options to meet the Licensure requirement.
Candidates must be currently licensed to practice as practical or
vocational nurses in a State or territory of the United States or
the District of Columbia (Applications of candidates possessing a
license must be accompanied by a certified or photostatic copy of
the license, a notarized statement attesting to the fact, or a
citation of the license number and State issuing it. Non-licensed
candidates who have completed their training may be appointed
subject to obtaining the required license during the probationary
period) In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet
the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized
experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the
Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector
performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Assisting with
escorting/transporting patient's to various service areas in the
medical center. Instructing patient's role in various procedures
and assist with chaperoned examinations. Reinforce patient teaching
given by the professional nurse and medical staff. Administer oral
medications, performing subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
Maintain immunization inventory including ordering, logging, and
reporting. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30
days of the closing date of the announcement. Education This
position has an education requirement. You are strongly encouraged
to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses
including titles, credit hours completed, and grades. Unofficial
transcripts will be accepted in the application package. Official
transcripts will be required from all selectees prior to receiving

accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S.

Additional Information Per IHS policy (SGM 21-04) IHS selectees to
positions located in Federally operated hospitals, health centers,
and clinics must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before entry on
duty or have IHS approve a medical or religious exemption. If an
exemption is approved then wearing a face mask and regular testing
for COVID-19 will be required. Your Human Resources Specialist will
provide a list of documents acceptable as vaccination proof and
instructions on how to submit your vaccination documentation or how
to request a medical or religious exemption, if needed. Federal
Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay
period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a
Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees
credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience
or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service
can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual
leave. This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit. Recruitment
or Relocation Incentives may be authorized and is subject to
availability and service unit approval. If offered, you will be
required to sign a one (1) year service agreement. Failure to
fulfill the service agreement will result in repayment of the
