Serves as a resource for all staff and a representative of Nursing management while proactivelycoordinating high quality, safe patient care flow, managing continuous process improvement, andsupporting a positive, respectful, and professional working environment for all.Adheres to all areas of the KHI Behavioral Expectations Agreement and Social Media Guidelines;Supports/embraces KHI’s Mission, Vision, and values, as well as promote a positive image of KHI; Acts as a role model to staff; Maintains patient and staff confidentiality; Maintains a professional appearance and manner at all times; Supports a healthy work environment through skilled communication, true collaboration, effective decision making, appropriate staffing and meaningful recognition.As a management representative of Nursing Administration, manages hospital activity and worksunder the direction of the physician and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide nursing careto patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations. Utilizes the nursing process to makecontinuing assessments of the patient’s total health needs; implements nursing interventions based onassessment data; develops and implements the nursing plan of care, and evaluates the patient’sresponse. Strives to provide excellent patient care with compassion, tact, cheerfulness, accuracy,patience, flexibility in scheduling, calmness in emergency, and ability to work well with team members, receiving and applying feedback from peers and superiors. Assists with orientation and training of all staff as requested.A. Coordination and Supervision of Nursing Personnel1. Manage hospital activity in the absence of Department Directors and Nursing Administration.2. Coordinates staffing for current and next shift for optimal productivity, taking intoconsideration patient acuity and staff expertise.3. Utilize human and material resources effectively.4. Evaluate staffing needs based on patient acuity and productivity and calls in emergency staff,B. Coordination of Patient Care Quality and Patient Satisfaction1. Makes clinical rounds to provide clinical resource to nursing staff, assess work flow, and assistwith patient through put.2. Responds to and participates in emergency calls: Code Blue (Arrest-Adult/Pediatric), CodePink (Infant/Child Abduction), Code Red (Fire), Code Yellow (Bomb Threat), and RapidResponse.3. Assists with coordination of admissions to the floors and to outside health care facilities.C. Coordination of Nursing Process and Compliance.1. Provides evidence-based care so as to prevent the development of a Healthcare AcquiredCondition and hospital readmissions.2. Practices standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminatedmaterials.3. Complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and works to reduce hospital acquired infectionsand other conditions.4. Serves as a clinical resource person and assists with educating the teams on new medications,policies, and procedures5. Assists with Performance Improvement activities on the units.Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program.Certification/Licensure:Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license.Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification from American Heart Association.De-escalation Techniques course within 6 months of hire, then within every 2 years after first classcompletion.Experience:2 years’ experience as RN.Med/Surg experience required.
