If you think you have these core attributes we want to hear from you. Job Summary: This position will be responsible auditing Claims files for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Job Responsibilities Analyzes state and federal laws and regulations applicable to Claims Keeps abreast of changes in state and federal laws and regulations applicable to Claims Reviews Claims files for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations Prepares compliance audit reports Distributes compliance audit reports to Claims directors and other appropriate stakeholders Maintains accurate documentation of compliance audits Prepares and conducts trainings to improve Claims' compliance with state and federal laws and regulations Prepares forms and other materials to assist with compliance initiatives Periodically evaluates business needs for compliance audit and makes recommendations Cultivates and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders (Claims, Legal, PLL, Actuarial) Contributes to and assists with the implementation of Claims compliance reporting initiatives Maintains an understanding of the business environment, including processes and technology, in order to provide analysis and recommendations for compliance improvements Leads or participates in departmental and organizational projects Experience in property and professional liability Claims preferred Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree a plus Certification Successful achievement of industry designations Participation in industry training opportunities Work Experience Minimum of 10 years of claims audit or claims compliance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Skill Sets Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong organization and time management skills Ability to deliver outstanding customer service Intermediate skills in Microsoft applications (2010 versions: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint) Ability to work in a team environment Self-directed and highly productive with limited supervision required Strong desire for continuous improvement Detail-oriented, results-oriented, and accuracy focused Exhibits confidence in public speaking opportunities Comfortable working in a virtual team Please note: Markel has a phased approach for re-entry into our buildings that is designed to balance the ongoing health, safety, and well-being of our employees with operational considerations and regulatory/governmental requirements and recommendations. Remote working is still the preferred method of working for most positions at this time.
