City Laughlin State NV Shift Day Type of Shift Full Time Department Food & Beverage Baker Aquarius (Laughlin, NV) Description: General Summary To work the day-to-day operations of the Bakery which includes preparation and production of all pastry, bread and dessert items for the Buffet, Caf, Vineyard, Duet, Employee Dining Room and Banquets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Prepare all food items according to standard recipes or as otherwise specified by supervisor to ensure consistency of product to the guest. + Requires transportation of heavy products. + Check and control the proper storage of product especially on all produce, includes checking on portion control to maintain quality product. + Clean as you go keeping your work station neat and orderly and perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to standards. + Monitor and keep all refrigeration, storage and equipment in clean, working condition. + Visually inspects, selects and uses only the most wholesome food products of the highest standard in preparation of all menu items. + Reads and employs math skills to follow standard recipes and menu specifications. + Perform any other duties as assigned by management. + Provide outstanding guest service to all internal and external guests Requirements: Job Specifications Qualifications + Requires reading and math skill for recipes and measurements. + Remain calm and alert, especially during heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model for other employees. + Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information. + Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal instructions from supervisor. + Communicate with supervisor throughout the shift. + Ability to use all types of pastry tips and bags to help enhance Bakeshop items. + Sufficient dexterity of hands in order to utilize cutlery in a safe and efficient manner. + To be familiar with and have the ability to operate the following equipment: Large Hobart mixer, small mixer, sheeter, Rondo mixer, dough rounder, Swiss sheet oven, cutler rotating oven, Rondo convection oven and proof boxes. + Ability to perform job functions at an acceptable level of competency and according to standards prescribed by management commensurate to job classifications. + Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing/restocking work station with supplies. + Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness. + Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products/inventory. + Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation. + Must be able to obtain and maintain all cards required by the company. + Must be able to verify right to work in the U.S. Working Conditions Physical Requirements + Regularly walk, bend, stand or stoop. + Ability to walk 90% of the shift. + Ability to stand, move and walk throughout the work station for the duration of the shift. + Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move or push goods on a cart/rack weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. at a continuous schedule. + Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 lbs. + Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. + Walk, stand or crouch on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. + Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail. + Need to distinguish between shades of color. + Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items and standard food recipes. + Ability to work in unfavorable conditions which can occasionally be hot, cold, noisy and wet.
