SummaryThe Parts Room/Shipping and Receiving Attendant is responsible for ordering, receiving, selling, and keeping an accurate inventory of all parts in the service center. The Parts Room Attendant will work closely with the service writer and technicians to ensure proper communication and efficiency in the service center.Essential duties and responsibilities- Provide our customers with a positive service experience & assure customer satisfaction- Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and supervising service orders with Technicians, from customer drop off to customer pick up- Responsible for the organization and upkeep of the service parts bin system- Maintain accurate inventory counts of all parts of the service center- Understand what all parts of the service center do and are for to ensure full understanding of needs of the service center- Track warranty work orders and warranty submissions and ensure they are billed and paid in a timely manner- Receive quotes from suppliers- Properly price out parts for customers and work orders- Generate parts purchase orders, receive items and maintain an accurate inventory system- Ensure that all parts are in a controlled environment. Any part that is removed from the designated area must be logged in Dealership Advantage before it is removed.- Act as the direct line of communication between the service center and the General Manager when the Service Manager is off duty- Actively communicate with clients, team members, and vendors in a professional manner- Engage with Tommys service and pro shop customers- Attain a high level of knowledge regarding Malibu, Axis, Crest, and Premier boats and their features Manage incoming and outgoing shipments and maintain daily records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Stock parts on shelves, receive parts inventory; stock and maintain parts inventory, help in the parts/shop areas and keep parts area maintained. Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times. Performs all computer functions necessary to track various products. Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Count, weigh, or measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records. Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Assemble, pack, and seal containers; create and affix shipping labels with instructions on packed cartons including postage Operate forklift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area. Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery. Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customersKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Administration and Management: Knowledge of business, management and sales principles, customer service, and coordination of people and resources.Accounting and Analysis: Able to understand inventory, costs and sales.Communication: Able to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and company personnel, able to clearly and effectively communicate information both orally and in writing. Able to communicate both orally and in writing with customers, many of whom are high net-worth individuals.Mechanical: Able to understand the mechanical and electrical systems on water craft and communicate issues to employees and customers.QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office required Education/Experience: High school diploma required. Bachelors degree preferred.Minimum 1-year service, sales, or watersports experience required. Employee regularly uses hands and fingers to touch, feel, handle. Employee regularly stoops, kneels, bend at the waist, and reaches. Employee is frequently required to speak and hear.
