Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor & analyze each exchange rebuild workorder and associated variance, to include:
  • Documenting additional parts installed outside the RBOM
  • Documenting additional machining and salvage requirements
  • Documenting any additional labor requirements outside of the standard job

  • Maintain standard jobs and Repair Bill Of Materials, (RBOMs) for all exchange component rebuilds.
  • Provide insight and recommendations on repair processes focused on minimizing cost without jeopardizing product quality.
  • Determine the reserve requirements for replacement of engine blocks, crankshafts, and other major exchange component piece parts.
  • Audit workorder administration to ensure proper processing of exchange workorders to insure consistency and traceability.
  • Research and/or develop tools focused on monitoring and updating RBOMs.
  • Develop written procedures and Standard Operating Procedures for the component exchange variance process.
  • Communicate with appropriate service and parts managers whenever changes are required to a standard job or RBOM prior to change implementation.
  • Provide excellent service to our customers, both externally and internally on a consistent basis.
  • Communicate effectively with parts accounting to review pricing and receivable accounts as required.
  • Meet with internal customers on a regular and systematic basis to ensure process consistency is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with Cashman and Caterpillar personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Maintain a good understanding of Caterpillar Reuse & Salvage Guidelines, and be proficient in using those skills to assist in replace/reuse direction when required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form.
  • Working knowledge of parts, components, core processing, freight and warehouse operations, and Caterpillar Reuse & Salvage Guidelines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, customers and the general public.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • Proficient computer technology skills, including ability to utilize company authorized software. Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Achieves a customer satisfaction through accurate, timely component rebuild management strategies & communication.
  • Effectively work as a team member, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree in business or related field, or five (5) years related experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Exchange rebuild process control and/or a related field with progressive responsibilities.

  • Stand/walk 1-4 hours a day. Sit 5-6 hours a day.
  • Occasionally lift 50 lbs. Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and climb, including the ability to ascend and descend ladders.
  • Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
